Airport Baggage Trolley Report: Should Airplanes be "weighed"? Why should airplanes be weighed? The weight of a healthy person will be based on his own height to arrive at a range of healthy weight values, the same is true for airplanes. According to the requirements of the AMM manual, each aircraft needs to be weighed every three years, and the aircraft also needs to be weighed after major maintenance, major structural modification, etc., and the aircraft balance arm and center of gravity are calculated to ensure flight safety and achieve maximum loading capacity.
A few days ago, the Shanghai maintenance base of Air China Engineering Technology Branch carried out the first aircraft weighing work in charge. As Air China does not have a hangar in Shanghai at present, the production planning and control department of the Shanghai maintenance base rented the hangar and weighing equipment of China Eastern Airlines half a month in advance, and coordinated the production command center of Air China Shanghai Branch to implement the relevant matters of aircraft parking space and outreach units. Feng Bin, senior deputy manager of the base, organized all relevant units to hold a special weighing meeting to study and formulate various action plans. The wide-body machine maintenance workshop will draw elite troops to form a weighing team. Some engineers who have been engaged in the fixed inspection work are already familiar with this work, but they are still relatively unfamiliar to many young employees in the Shanghai maintenance base. Although the work flow of aircraft weighing is not loaded, aviation safety is no small matter. Everyone involved in this work is very serious to do the preparatory work and learn professional knowledge in time.
In the afternoon of the same day, when the weighing aircraft has finished pumping fuel from the fuel tank, the drinking water tank and the waste tank have been emptied, the lubricating oil system of the aircraft has been fully filled, the hydraulic oil tank and its system have been fully filled with hydraulic oil, the "foreign" items on the aircraft have been emptied, all the cover parts on the outer surface of the aircraft have been in place, the weighing equipment has been assembled, and the preparation for the weighing work has been completed, finally, the crew pushes the aircraft onto a dedicated weighing scale. Through the calculation of the readings on the scale, the empty weight and center of gravity range are obtained, and all the values obtained in this weighing work are within the normal range, thus confirming that the "weight" of the aircraft in charge is very "healthy. This also reflects from one side that Airline Shanghai's maintenance was able to successfully manage the A321 aircraft.
After nearly half a month of preparation, the Shanghai maintenance base successfully completed the first weighing of the aircraft in charge. Since it began to take charge of the aircraft in 2011, the Shanghai maintenance base has taken one step at a time, bought further steps a year, continuously improved its maintenance capability and expanded its business scope, and made continuous efforts to build an international gateway for Shanghai.
